Juris Doctor Degree Requirements

To receive the Juris Doctor degree from the USC Gould School of Law students must complete all of the following:

  • the first-year Curriculum
  • 88 total units
  • 35 upper-division graded units
  • six semesters of full-time attendance
  • the Upper-Division Writing Requirement
  • the Practical Skills Course Requirement
  • 65 units in “Regularly Scheduled Class Sessions”
